This is the original 1972 Cannonball Challenger, which competed in the 1972 and 1975 edition of the Cannonball Run. The car was originally modified by Cotton Owens and has been recently restored by Barry Brown. With the original 4-bbl, 340 cu. in. engine. It also includes a 35-gallon safety cell in the trunk used in conjunction to the standard 20-gallon tank for a driving range of about 650 miles. Other Cannonball necessities included a full roll cage; CB radio, radar detector, and a cell phone the size of a hummer.
Brocks fastest time was in 1971 - 1st place Ferrari Daytona - With Dan Gurney 35hrs:54min
1972 Dodge Challenger ran in the 1972 and 1975 Cannonball Run 1972 - Fastest time was in 1972: 37hrs:26min - 2nd place 1975 - 38:03:00
Dan Woods
Dan Woods of the TV show Chop Cut & Rebuild on Speed Channel will be at the 2011 Syracuse Nationals to meet his fans this July 15 and16. Dan will be in the Legendary Auto Interiors booth in the Center of Progress building. Stop by to get a photo or autograph and share some stories of your project with Dan.

although he loves hotrods and has always admired them since as far back as

can remember. Art was lucky enough to work under “BIG DADDY” Ed Roth,
one of his childhood art heros.
